Art II November 3 2011

SPECTRUM HOMESCHOOL COMMUNITY

Art II Lesson Plans November 3 2011

PRE CLASS: students present work done over the week for instructor’s critique. Review of last week’s technique. Only positive comments are allowed.

OUR INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: Our inspiration for today is from proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the Lord what ever you do and your plans will succeed." (I don't remember if I already used this one but it is such a treasured thought I personally come to it often). This verse is a promise from God that if we commit to him what ever we do we will have success. But we must remember if we are committing to God whatever we do it should be our best, or else it would be an insult to God, it must be done humbly, reverently, and unselfishly. If we honor God in our lives He will honor us.

INSTRUCTION AND DEMONSTRATION ON TECHNIQUE:  we will discuss monochrome and demonstrate using one color and it’s various hues to compose a picture.

CLASS PROJECTS: Electives include
1.      Students may finish work started last week.
2.      Monochrome of a still life of random objects.
3.      Or a woman’s face in monochrome.
4.      Or a scene of students choosing from a travel magazine in monochrome.

AT HOME THIS WEEK: Draw two pictures of the students choosing. A hand out of how to draw an arched footbridge.

OPTIONAL DRAWING LONG TERM PROJECT:
Page 23 “I beat their champion and he fainted.” Draw a picture of the champion on the ground.
Page 24 I said good-by and went after ________ (name of the thief). Draw a picture of everyone waving good-by as you leave.
Page 25 “I had to climb over the high mountains. I could see him at the top.” Draw a picture of the high mountains make them rocky and full of cliffs. Have clouds floating half way up.
WARNING: You are up to 25 pages. Do not get behind on this- those who do never catch up!
