Art II Lesson Plans September 29, 2011

OUR INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: Galatians 6:9, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” Why do we want to do art or writing, or sports or anything else for that matter?  As people who love and obey God we want to serve him and so we want to be able to serve those people he loves. He gives us opportunities to do good to his children as a way to show our love to him. There are many ways to use art to do good to others, think of ways to use art to do good. Go for it and you will be blessed.

INSTRUCTION AND DEMONSTRATION ON TECHNIQUE:   We will discuss warm and cool colors in a composition. We will paint autumn leaves in warm colors of red, brown, yellow, etc and set them in a background of cool colors such as blue and lavender.

Splatter technique will be demonstrated to add spotting to dried leaves.

We will use the various water wash that were discussed over the last few weeks. The leaves will be painted using watery color dropping into wet areas and allowing them to flow freely. The background will be wet onto dry paper adding water to the color and letting it spread into the clear water becoming.

We will sponge some of the color off the wash to give texture.
