Art Lesson Plans for May 12

SPECTRUM HOMESCHOOL COMMUNITY

Art Lesson Plans May 12, 2011

Honorable mention goes to Cinthia G for her drawing of tulups which she did for a greeting card.

PRE CLASS: Did any one draw during the last week? (Such as skill builders, long term, other).  What can they show the class?  Positive constructive peer reactions are encouraged.

WARM UPS: 1. Practice drawing cubes. 2. Clouds impressions. 3 lighting bolts. 4. Spotty texture.

CLASS PROJECTS: 1 Students selected their best works for the quarter and mounted them in basic mats for display at the family night.  Class was given a choice to sketch and a portrait of a person from the cover of a magazine. Giving  attention to the kinky hair and problems of wide  smiles in facial anatomy. Alternate project was to draw  a bowl of fruit the use of color was encouraged.

TAKE HOME SKILLBUILDERS: This week we have a practice in composing a landscape, and how to draw a baby dragon..

LONG TERM PROJECT: Continue to read the Book of Acts and illustrate each chapter. Keep these illustrations in a folder to mount later on. One illustration must be a person.

OUR INSPIRATION FOR TODAY: “Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there , carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life you are a mist, that appears for a little while and then vanishes.  Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.” As it you boast and brag, all such boast is evil.” James 4 13-19 NIV. We not only need to be humble before God in our long term plans but also in immediate short term plans. As we begin our project we need to have the attitude that God’s will should be done for that project. It may not turn out the way we want it to but let us pray it turns out the way the Lord wants it to. His purpose for our project may be different than our purpose. Let the lord be in charge of your project and your day and your life it will be blessed.
